January 19 — Luncheon with Military Photographer and Combat Veteran, Stacy Pearsall

We are extremely honored to have Stacy Pearsall as our guest speaker for January’s luncheon. Stacy, who began her career as an Air Force photographer at the age of 17, has traveled to over 41 countries. During three tours in Iraq, she earned the Bronze Star Medal and Commendation Medal with valor for heroic actions under fire. Combat disabled and retired from the military, Pearsall works worldwide as an independent photographer and is an author, educator, military consultant, public speaker, and founder of the Veterans Portrait Project (VPP).  Since 2008, she’s traveled coast-to-coast with the VPP covering 82 cities in all 50 states and has documented over 7,500 veterans. February 9 – Luncheon with Wildlife Sculptor and Painter, Scott Penegar

We are excited to welcome Scott Penegar, who will discuss the amazing techniques he uses in creating his exquisite sculptures. Having worked as a commercial fisherman, an exhibit designer at the North Carolina Aquarium, an ecological tour guide on Kiawah Island, and then having studied marine biology at the College of Charleston, Scott’s work has been heavily influenced by his passion for the sea. He has made two transatlantic crossings in a 34-foot sailboat. His works can be found in numerous fine art galleries, and he has created sculptures for South Carolina State Parks, Brookgreen Gardens, Ripley’s Aquarium, and the Frist Center for the Arts in Nashville. He is a signature member of the American Society of Marine Artists and an exhibiting member of the Charleston Art Guild and Tri-State Sculptors. You won’t want to miss this exciting presentation! Join us at noon in the Ballroom at the River Course!
