Arts programs have been shown to have a positive impact on student academic performance. Since 2002, Arts, etc. has made it its mission to bring arts programming to neighboring schools on Johns and Wadmalaw Islands. The programs include classes, field trips, performances, and other arts-based activities. They are designed to stimulate creativity and critical thinking while encouraging collaboration and a sense of community. Through these programs, offered to elementary, middle school, and high school students, Arts, etc. hopes to inspire local students in such a way that they draw inspiration from local culture, develop life skills and self-confidence, and give back to their community.
