Theatre Residency

Charleston Gaillard Center Theatre Residency

Through Arts, etc. sponsorship, Charleston Gaillard Center’s educators will work with Mt. Zion, Angel Oak, and Edith L. Frierson elementary schools in a mini residency over a one-week period that culminates in a field trip to the Gaillard for a live educational performance. The residency will include four days of instruction by a teaching artist and connects the classroom curriculum to the live performance at the Gaillard. This approach is designed to make literature understandable and accessible for students in these underserved schools. This program will deliver lesson plans designed to accommodate all learning styles.
